This policy explains what information the Greenside Golf mobile app (“the app”, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at ggadmin@coda.im.

1. Who we are

Greenside Golf is a golf scoring and group-organising app. You create an account to keep your games, friends, societies and trips in sync across rounds. The app is operated by the developer of Greenside Golf, contactable at ggadmin@coda.im.

2. Information we collect

Account information

Sign-up and sign-in are handled by Amazon Cognito. We collect:

Email address (required) — used to create your account, verify it, and sign you in.
Password — managed entirely by Amazon Cognito. We never see or store your password.
Phone number (optional) — only if you choose to add it to your profile.
Profile details — your display name, username, golf handicap and an optional profile photo.

Content you create in the app

Games, scores, leaderboards, pars and stroke indexes you enter.
Friends, societies (and society logos), members and member polls.
Trips you plan — itineraries, costs, attendance and a record of who has paid.
Photos you choose to add — profile pictures, team photos, society logos, and on-course challenge photos (for example longest drive or nearest the pin).

Some of this content is shared with other people you play with — for example, your name, photo and scores are visible to others in the same game or society.

Location

Your location stays on your device. With your permission, the app uses your phone’s GPS to show your distance to the green and your position on the course map while you score a round. This location data is processed on your device only — it is not sent to or stored on our servers, and it is never shared with other users. You can deny or revoke the location permission at any time in your device settings; the rest of the app keeps working.

Information we do not collect

The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not sell your data.

3. How we use your information

To create and secure your account and sign you in.
To provide the app’s features — scoring, leaderboards, friends, societies and trips.
To show your distance to the green and the course map (on-device).
To respond to support requests you send us.

4. Third-party services we use

Golf course data & OpenStreetMap	Course details and hole-map outlines	No personal data — we fetch course information from these sources; we do not send them your information.

These providers act as our service providers/processors and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.

5. How your data is stored and protected

All data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
Your data is stored in AWS in the EU (Ireland) region.
Passwords are handled by Amazon Cognito and are never visible to us.

6. Data retention & deleting your account

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see Delete your account & data or email ggadmin@coda.im. When you delete your account, your profile and personal data are removed; some content shared in a group game may remain visible to other participants in anonymised form.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under UK/EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact ggadmin@coda.im.

8. Children

Greenside Golf is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know.
